The New Mexico Search and Rescue Council (NMSARC) is the only organization that represents over seven hundred volunteers who make their wilderness search and rescue skills available to the State of New Mexico. We speak as the collective voice of these volunteers. NMSARC dues support Summer, Winter, and specialized trainings, as well as its members' annual state conference, ESCAPE. Member teams also have access to three VHF and two UHF NMSARC radio frequencies, an affordable USGS topo maps program, LCD projectors, and more. See the Membership Information page to join NMSARC today!
Your membership in NMSARC gives you the following benefits:
- Reduced registration fees for your team members at ESCAPE.
- Reduced or no fee registration for your team members for NMSARC sanctioned regional trainings.
- Access to special training by qualified instructors for your team through NMSARC.
- Voting privileges at the Annual ESCAPE to select NMSARC board members and have a voice in the direction for matters related to SAR issues in New Mexico.
- Use of LCD projectors and screens for training purposes at no charge. Projectors are located throughout the state and may be scheduled via your team liaison.
- Team Emergency Equipment Grant Program. While this is a very limited and restricted program it can be of a great benefit to a team for the replacement of team equipment that is lost, stolen or damaged during a State SAR Mission
- USGS Topographical Maps for teams and team members at prices about one third the USGS price.
- Seed money (in the form of a loan) to sponsor trainings.
- Assistance organizing large-scale training exercises.
- Part of a statewide communication network for NM SAR teams.
- A Board member liaison to help answer SAR related questions, or give direction with research.
