JOIN US AT ESCAPE 2023!! Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America's largest national High Adventure Base. It covers 140,171 acres or about 220 square miles of rugged mountain wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains in northern New Mexico.
PROGRAM: Classes will be offered covering basic and advanced SAR skills, land navigation, CalTopo usage, management, helicopter operations, canine training, and medical skills. Two field certification exams and a ham radio license exam will be offered. *Field certified SAR volunteers may satisfy the maintenance of certification requirement by taking courses at ESCAPE that have been approved by DPS. EMS Continuing Education Hours will also be available. Applicable courses will be indicated on the schedule.*

We are excited to announce that Jerad Hoff will be joining us as guest speaker for ESCAPE 2020. Jerad is a Civil Air Patrol Cellphone and Radar Forensic technician who works for the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and SAR. He is an IC and has extensive experience in SAR.

Wi-Fi is offered in most areas throughout Philmont Training Center and we've been informed the Wi-Fi system has been upgraded and improved since our last Escape.
HAM RADIO: There is a local repeater available for use: 145.21- (144.61) PL 110.9 (N5GDR) on Eagle Tail Mountain South of Raton.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Upon arrival, please check in at the registration desk to receive your packet of information. This will include a printed course schedule, the detailed course descriptions with instructor bios, a map of Philmont, and name tag. Feel free to either follow a specific course track or pick and choose from courses throughout the weekend. *Please note: Team Packets will also be available for pick up at the registration desk. Someone from your team should be designated as the team contact prior to pick up. This packet will include information that will be voted on by all council member teams.
SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET: Come and enjoy a special banquet meal provided by Philmont and our guest speaker.

We highly recommend attendees stay at Philmont for ease of access to activities throughout the weekend. Philmont offers a variety of accommodations; however, housing units are limited. There are unlimited tented accommodations. K9s are welcome in all housing facilities this year. RV spaces are available.
Please note: In order to maximize the limited housing, we encourage you to share rooms with your fellow SAR colleagues and/or teammates!

Luxury Deluxe Tents - $60 per tent per night **NEW THIS YEAR**
These tents offer room for 5 – 6 with electricity and a ceiling fan. In the main room is a queen-sized bed and in the side room are 2 sets of bunk beds. The Luxury Deluxe Tents are a short walk away to our shower house, where individual locking units contain a shower, sink, toilet, mirror, and power outlets. Philmont will provide upgraded bedding and towels during your stay in the Luxury Deluxe Tents.
These tents offer room for 5 – 6 with electricity and a ceiling fan. In the main room is a queen-sized bed and in the side room are 2 sets of bunk beds. The Luxury Deluxe Tents are a short walk away to our shower house, where individual locking units contain a shower, sink, toilet, mirror, and power outlets. Terrace Canvas Tents - $26 per tent per night
Tents include 2 twin cots with mattresses, electricity, a light, a chair, and a storage locker. Philmont’s spectacular shower houses are made up of self-contained private stalls which include a toilet, shower, sink, and mirror. Bring your own bedding (sheets or sleeping bag/pillow) and towel!

Step 2: Register for Event Housing and Meals
This year we are giving participants the flexibility with ala carte pricing to select which meals and nights for housing that best fits their schedule.
Meals begin Thursday evening through Sunday lunch. Meal prices are per person.
Housing starts Thursday night through Saturday night. Housing prices are per unit, per day.
Housing options include "bring your own tent", RV sites with no hookups, Terrace Tents that includes two cots and mattresses, Deluxe tents that sleep up to 6, roofed housing units that sleep 2 to 6 people.
One primary person should register everyone sleeping in the same unit under one registration.
EMS Registration Steps:
A. Choose "Guest Registration".
B. Input information about primary person.
C. Select attendee type.
D. Input additional guests.
E. Answer questions regarding dietary needs, K9 participation, etc. for each participant.
F. Insert your Eventbrite order number.
G. Select, under activities, meals and housing needs for each participant. Only choose one housing unit for the number of guests in this registration. If additional units are needed, start a second registration.
H. Pay fees using a credit card or E-check.
I. Please share housing confirmation email with all registrants. Email contains links to medical form, K9 agreement, property map and directions, and information about the Philmont Training Center.

When ordering accommodations the cost per night is for the housing unit regardless of how many beds it contains.
It is your responsibility to arrange room or tent sharing with members of your team or family.
You may wish to share the cost with others staying in your room. For example, if sharing a tent the cost is $26 per night per tent. If sharing with one other person, the cost would be $13 per night per person. One person must purchase the housing unit and arrange cost sharing on their own independent of the registration system. The Philmont registration system can not track room sharing.
Each person must purchase their own meals using the Philmont Training Center Registration system.
